FAQ

  • Every week, one of our wonderful tutors will meet remotely with your child for an hour per subject requested, reviewing their homework with them and explaining concepts confusing to the student. They will not be assigning homework, but will have access to an abundance of reference material to give your child to work on at home, if requested.
  • While we hope to expand in the future, we currently offer tutoring for fourth and fifth grade elementary school students. Our tutors will be able to help with English Language Arts (ELA) and math, based on the NYS curriculum your child is learning in class.
  • Our tutors all have exemplary grades in their own academic lives and were carefully chosen and interviewed based on their past experience. We selected students that we felt would serve as positive role models, set good examples, and be a good fit for working with young students.
  • While we do not offer a trial session, if you’re unhappy with your first session, please do not hesitate to reach us at az.brainybeez@gmail.com. We will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss the next steps to improve your experience with our program.
  • Once your application is processed and a meeting time is set, you will be sent information for either a Google Meet or Zoom call. This will be the link that you use weekly for the duration of your cohort.
  • If you submit your application before the deadline for your desired cohort, you will hear back from us within a week of the deadline date with a scheduled time, which we will ask you to then confirm.
  • While we do not offer such a service at this time, if you have a concern about your child’s tutor, please contact us immediately at az.brainybeez@gmail.com.You will have the option to request a different tutor and we will do our best to ensure your satisfaction.
  • Each tutoring session is 1 hour long. You can request a maximum of two tutoring sessions per week at this time.
  • While we do not offer extracurricular programs, our website will regularly be updated with other programs and organizations we heard about that may help assist your child if they have limited circumstances (such as limited access to the internet or technological devices).  We do not endorse these programs or guarantee success with them; we are just doing our best to try to maximize the amount of help we can give the families within our program.
  • Our tutors will work with your child on specific questions and topics that they are struggling with.  They will try to help your child master the topic by providing  practice questions to work on during the session and give your child additional sources on the topic to review during their own time
  • Our directors of Educational Programming, under the supervision of CEO Ashley Indictor, developed an unofficial curriculum using the learning standards and topics expected of students by the New York State. Each topic was developed to have both at home and in-class problems for the student to work on, as well as review videos from other amazing programs like Khan Academy for the student to watch if they need additional guidance. Instead of the parent having to take time to fish for the right resources, we will have them all ready for your child during the session.
  • Since your child will be working with the same tutor for the duration of the cohort you selected, your tutor will get to know your child’s needs and be able to teach them and offer them guidance in a personalized manner.
  • Of course! As long as the child’s teacher does not consider assistance with these matters as academic dishonesty, we are more than happy and eager to help your child with preparing for exams and completing their homework. We do want to make it clear, however, that we will not help your child with material the teacher has deemed strictly independent work (no help from parents or tutors), and an attempt to do so may result in your termination from involvement with the program.
  • With the understanding that every family has a different economical background and therefore may have access to a limited amount of resources, We are happy to offer our services at no cost, regardless of the child’s background.
  • The parent will be expected to give a several hours notice if a session needs to be canceled or rescheduled. If the parent wishes to reschedule a session, they may contact the tutor to see if the tutor has a possible time to conduct a session.
  • Absolutely! Parents are more than welcome and encouraged to contact us if they ever have any questions or concerns they would like to discuss. We designed this program to help local families, and we are committed to making their time with us as enjoyable as possible.
  • We do not offer tutoring in languages other than English, but if you speak a second language and would prefer to contact us in that language for communications, we do have Spanish and Russian speaking members that will help you to the best of their ability.
